Interesting ...

Would it be do-able to hike the entire crest of Squaw Peak Benchmark Ridge from Bald Mountain to Point 12,960', or would it
be best to wait until winter and do it on skis, creating less
impact on the fragile alpine ecosystem?

That's one of the most impressive ridges I've seen in the U.S. -
and, Moose Peak is so aptly named.

The only thing your Moose Peak page is lacking is a photograph
of a full-grown adult Bull Moose with a glint in its eyes and
rage in its heart.

Then again, you don't have to go far on SP to find a moose.

Did we ever find out where moose gather during the Winter? Is there a Moose Lodge where the moose are served exotic drinks to
get them prepared for the onslaught of hikers invading their
territory during the summer months?

Re: Interesting ...

Yes, it's doable to hike the whole ridge. I sort of did that but skipped Bald Mountain, having done it a few weeks earlier with my family. I got on the ridge just south of Bald.

As far as hikers up there impacting the "fragile alpine ecosystem", LOL. I'd love to know how many people made it up there this year. I'm guessing 1.

It would make a great ski trip, but unfortunately, the roads to the trailheads aren't plowed in the winter. Late spring might be possible though.

And yeah, a picture of a moose on the summit would be perfect.

Re: Interesting ...

LOL.

Actually, a picture of 'MOCKBA' on the summit would be perfect
for me.

Guess we can only dream ...

Re: Very good page!

Thanks Eric,

I always just assumed your name was really Maurice Ravel.
