Drive By Peakbagging  Sucess!

I can drive my car with no steering wheel
No steering wheel
No steering wheel
I can drive my car with no steering wheel
No steering wheel
No steering wheel
Look at me, look at me
Hands in the air like it's good to be
Alive, and I'm a famous rapper
Even when the paths are all crookedy
I can show you how to do-si-do
I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control
And I can almost put it back together
I can tie a knot in a cherry stem
I can tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores"
And I'm proud to be an American
Me and my friend saw a platypus
Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took?
I can do anything that I want, 'cause, look
I can keep rhythm with no metronome
No metronome
No metronome
And I can see your face on the telephone
On the telephone
On the telephone
Look at me, look at me
Just called to say that it's good to be
Alive in such a small world
I'm all curled up with a book to read
I can make money, open up a thrift store
I can make a livin' off a magazine
I can design an engine
Sixty-four miles to a gallon of gasoline
I can make new antibiotics
I can make computers survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run the business
And I can make you wanna buy a product
Movers, shakers and producers
Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the system
I can do anything with no resistance
'Cause I can lead a nation with a microphone
With a microphone
With a microphone
And I can split the atom of a molecule
Of a molecule
Of a molecule
Look at me, look at me
Drivin' and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be alive and on top
My reach is global
My tower secure
My cause is noble
My power is pure
I can hand out a million vaccinations
Or let 'em all die of exasperation
Have 'em all healed of their lacerations
Have 'em all killed by assassination
I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like 'em
And I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command because
I can guide a missile by satellite
By satellite
By satellite
And I can hit a target through a telescope
Through a telescope
Through a telescope
And I can end the planet in a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
I can drive my car with no steering wheel
No steering wheel
No steering wheel
I can drive my car with no steering wheel
No steering wheel

Ashland ('18)  Sucess!

Made a last-minute decision to hit this one at sunset. Mostly a drive-up on a decent dirt road but a surprisingly beautiful area with incredible views in all directions, particularly of Shasta and McLoughlin. Great hike, would recommend

After Shasta...  Sucess!

After returning from climbing Mount Shasta, I was sooo tired. But then the rest area north of Weed was hot and not shady, so I drove further north to the rest area north of Yreka... which was even hotter. Ugh. I pressed on driving north in a somewhat loopy state of mind. I found a nice shady spot near the lower gate for Mount Ashland. This spot was not only good for sleeping in the car due to somewhat mild temperatures, it presented a nice starting point (albeit longer than I wanted) for hiking up the Mount Ashland road. If I had been thinking a little straighter, I probably would have driven up to the 4x4 road entrance. Oh, well. The views from the summit were great, and I had a very nice conversation with some locals who had driven their SUV to the upper parking area.

After Mt. Eddy  Sucess!

First day of three day COHP trip, we finished early on Mt. Eddy so we bagged Mt. Ashland in Oregon en route to Grants Pass for the night. Drove up to within about a half mile of the summit. TR is HERE.

bonus peak  Sucess!

Quick stop on drive back to the Bay Area. Drove to the radar station and walked the last 100 feet. 85 minutes round trip from the freeway.

Shasta was clear and brilliant in the south.

4x4 Road  Sucess!

Hike this one morning before heading over the Upper and Lower Table Rock near Medford. Was able to safely drive and park a small 2WD sedan right to the beginning of the 4x4 access road, and hiked up that to the top. Once I'd reached the top, I was passed by a senior citizen in a Mini Cooper, so I suppose you could drive all the way to the top if you'd like. Amazing view of Shasta and a fun summit to wander around on, despite all the equipment and buildings.

5th in a day of 6  Sucess!

I did a bunch of easy SW Oregon P2K's this day, with Hamaker preceding this one. I had lots of daylight so I opted to walk up the summit road.

Pre-race run  Sucess!

A high school cross country teammate and I ran to the summit the night before the Siskiyou Outback 15k race which is on the same day as the big 50k race. Easy summit but racing on a 7000 foot mountain was a lot harder.

Quick hike  Sucess!

On my way back to Nor. Cal. from Medford and decided to hike it. Parked at the ski area and hiked the maintenance road to the summit. I'll have to try the 'Marathon Route' that Dennis Poulin described as I watched a great mountain bike race down that route to Lithia Park. Great sunset.
