"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Old Stomping GroundsA hill just a mile or so from where I grew up. Had a lot of fun climbing around as a kid. Don't forget to see Clint Eastwood climb to the top in "Dirty Harry"!

Nighttime city lightsI hit the summit on my way through town to visit a buddy who lived up in Marin County. No problem finding the trailhead, even with Gary Suttle's somewhat dated 1993 description. It was at night, and a bit chilly on the summit, but the view of the city lights was awesome.
I must disagree with the comment from the description that county highpointing is the only reason you would want to visit Mount Davidson. There is a quite a nice view of the City from the summit here.
That being said, I generally prefer Twin Peaks for views of the city, less obstruction and a totally clear view downtown to the financial district.

Lame highpointing dayWith Bob, quite possibly the weakest day we've ever spent out: Vaca, this one, and then two other equally forgettable bumps whose names I can't even remember down near San Jose. With the exception of North Pal last summer, I think this may have been the last time I went out highpointing.

yepOn my way back to the office from a job site, I saw the cross on the hill, and knew I had to ascend, ASCEND! to the mount.
