Three peak loop
Climbed via the Eagle Peak trail and Prospector Gap. Decended by way of the Mitchell Canyon Trail. Bagged Eagle Peak, Diablo Summit, and North Peak. Trek was approximately 15 miles. A group of T6 Texan aircraft did a fly-by while we were on the summit. Very cool!

Third time a charm!
This was one of the best hiking afternoons so far! It's my third time on the mountain. On two previous attempts my father decided to turn around for no good reason. He was claiming it was going to get dark before we were back at the car, as if it was something new. This time I was having none of it! We started late at about 3 pm at the first turnoff past the North Gate. I walked for about half a mile gaining 300 ft in the process. Not bad! Then we took Pine Canyon to Barbecue Terrace and followed Summit trail to the summit. Kind of. My father took a wrong turn in the process, heading downhill for a while before recognizing his error. We had to take some cow trails to get back on track on the south slope. I really had to push my father on at this point. He started stopping every 50 steps or so as if he did not know we were running out of daylight. I was telling him to keep walking and to catch up with my mother every time he stopped. So I think I can claim a lot of credit for reaching the summit. Anyway, we were on top at about 6:40pm. Beautiful views from the observation deck! We saw San Francisco and snowy Sierra in the distance. Now, finally content on reaching the summit, I was able to fall asleep. I woke up somewhere in the woods in complete darkness. We were still going down. Turned out my father forgot a flashlight. Yet another blunder he made today! It was getting scary in the dark but I did not say a word. Anyway, we crossed some creeks and got back to the car at about 9:30 pm. I was so glad to be back in my seat! What a day! 12 miles roundtrip, 3300 ft change in elevation from car to summit and more than 4000 ft elevation gain total (only counting 200+ ft sections of continuous gain)!
