Mt. Diller After All
Approached from Ski Heil Peak but due to building clouds I bailed on this. Drove over to the south visitor center, saw that the weather was much improving, and headed back up via the Ridge Lakes Trail. Went up and followed the SW ridge up to the west ridge and summit, and came down the south/southwest slope, which was more straightforward. Great swim in the lake before heading out.

A nice summit with great vistas
This is an easy peak from the lakes trail. It’s proximity to the SW entrance makes it ideal for a winter day trip adventure. An easy snow climb up and it connects to a ridge all the way to Eagle Peak.

whiteout
climbed the south ridge with my buddy Matt. Conditions deteriorated as we climbed, and on the summit it was a whiteout with at least 35 mph winds pelting us with ice pellets. A small clump of frozen hemlocks served as our lunch break shelter. Good times!

SE Gully
Cool peak with a great view of Brokeoff and Lassen. Approached from the east ridge and climbed the SE gully with a team of five. A fun mixed route with a great finish.

Winter Traverse
Part of a two day trip coving the ridge from Lassen to just short of Brokeoff. Fun trip with great views, and quite spicy under the current conditions to make it up the east side of Diller while staying close to the ridge.

Traverse from Eagle
Best weather of the week-long Cascades trip that became a Yosemite trip. With Bob, Laura, Adam, and Kevin.

ski south couloir
have climbed every aspect of Diller many years ago and now that I've become a skier, I had to come back to ski it. I chose the south gully because conditions were outstanding on that aspect and it has estetic appeal. alot of obstacles in it due to melt-out, causing limited room to make turns.

Few views but two big shoes strap on the board nothin to lose
Yep 96avs01 and I had a great ride down. After scoping out the descent route and taking the 15 extra minutes to summit, we returned to our boards and 50 ft visibility but made it down in about the same line we had picked...I think. I love volcanoes!

Great day with few views
Climbed the southwest face with Evan (mow10). Hauled our boards up and nearly rode all the way from the summit ridge to the car. Didn't have much for views due to a low cloud layer, but it was still a great day in the BC. Next board descent...bring on the Gulch!

Route Climbed: Ridge Lakes
Took a few friends on their first ski touring trip. Great conditions further up, very mushy down in the forest early in the day already.
Made snowboard descents along the ridge between Brokeoff and Diller. Ended by climbing the west ridge of Diller and descending the south bowl. Short descent, but a quick climb. A climb along the ridge from Brokeoff to Diller to Lassen would be an interesting day.
