Won't be forgotten  Sucess!

Climbed Mt Forgotten on a cloudy, damp day. The Meadows were beautiful despite being cloaked in fog, the bootpath around to the gully wasn't half bad, and the final scramble of the 10ish feet of knife edge was fun.

Stunning views in all directions  Sucess!

A bit of route finding once you drop down from the meadows. When the trail exits the tree line below the East side of the peak you head almost due West up a gully. After exiting the gully it's basically a walk up to a few boulders to the North peak. The true summit with the canister is about 10 ft. of some pretty healthy exposure. Probably 75 ft. on the North side and at least 200 ft. on the South side. I took a couple minutes to analyze the knife edge and decided that with good hand holds it was within my skill level. All the other peaks are accessible beyond this point. Great fun!

Exhilarating Summit  Sucess!

Remember sitting on the knife-edge of the summit with a leg on either side of the mountain. Extreme exposure, but worth the experience.

Finally Forgotten  Sucess!

A long day trip, especially with having to break trail through the fall snow. Nobody went past the meadows that day except me. I shortened the trip by parking in the little pullout where the road used to go up. When I first attempted the peak, the road was still open. Ah the good old days. Enjoy the roads that still exist.

Gorgeous Hike  Sucess!

One of the more spectacular hikes I've done in the Cascades; amazing 360 views with tons of classic peaks. Route description is pretty accurate; the trail is primitive, but if you know where the route goes, it's hard to get lost. This time of year there are still a few lingering snowfields right near the summit that you'd need ice axes for; we managed to skirt around on rocks (class 3) to avoid the snow. There are two summit registers (one on the northern peak and one on the central peak); not to miss out, I did the scramble across to the middle peak for fun. To get to the standard peak is easy class 3 with minimum exposure (biggest annoyance is bushwacking); getting to the middle peak for kicks requires about 10 feet of class 4, with good handholds.

Forgotten  Sucess!

Hiked up Stillaguamish Peak with James Barlow, Becca Romig, and Sam Hahn on my birthday while on vacation in the Pac NW. James had already done Forgotten and the other two weren't as interested so I quickly did this one on the hike out. A bit of route finding on this one in order to keep the best line, but not too bad. The toughest part the scramble to the top was getting to the other two potential highpoints. Fun hike.

Nice Hike & Scramble  Sucess!

This was a very enjoyable hike and final scramble to the summit scramble. We used a rope for the final climb to the true summit; the rope was not necessary but definitely made us feel a lot better. The footholds I found and used on the north side of the technical spot were better than the butt-scooching Paul and Tim each did. Great views from the summit. A swarm of seemingly 50+ people, mostly from the "meetup.com" website, was hanging out at Forgotten meadows during our descent. Apparently, meetup.com does not care about wilderness restrictions for group sizes.

Great little corner of the Cascades!  Sucess!

After an uneventful 2-day trip to Monte Cristo & Silver Lake following the discovery that our planned 3-day trip to Glacier Peak was lengthened by an additional ~15-20 miles (inability of the Forest Service to repair flood-damaged roads/trails), Jake & I decided to end our 3-day trip here (thanks to the guys we met in the parking lot who recommended this!!!). The fog that dampened the spirit the previous 2 days was still present at the outset, but we continued on nonetheless. When we started seeing blue near the meadows, my enthusiasm & hope were raised considerably. After taking an extended break at the bench on the ridgeline, we decided to press on & see how things went. Meadows were beautiful, but we continued on, & summited 4:38 after leaving the parking lot. Spent almost half an hour at the summit before starting the trek down. 3:04 back to the TH. Beautiful, day, hike, & summit!

Third Times a Charm  Sucess!

Perfect day, good group, successful summit. Our group used line of sight between the first and second summit, with Pilchuck in the background, to determine that the first summit is the highest.
