Hot day. West summit is the first one, but false. Middle summit has the register, but is also false. East summit is the true summit.

Sarda Court
Lots of fog so didn't get much in the way of views. The bushwhack to the true summit from the end of the trail wasn't as bad as anticipated since the brush was not very high.
I grew up on Daza Dr. I had no idea what the mountain was called until I was in my 20's. I have been hiking up and climbing on the rocks since I was a little boy. Back then it wasn't hiking, climbing, and bivying. It was just playing. And now that I think about it, it still is.

Best-kept secret in SD County
For more than a decade, I lived in SDCE just a mile from the Mount Gower Open Space Preserve trailhead, so this was my back yard. Nice hike, lots of ups and downs on the Gunn Stage side made for a nice workout. Great views from the top.
The perimeter of the open space preserve is laced with use and equestrian trails (some of which cut a lot of distance off the official trail),these get a fair amount of use in the morning and evening. It was pretty unusual to meet anyone on the far (E) side of Swartz Canyon though.
The vast majority of properties adjacent to the park are fenced in and the property lines are pretty clear.

Cool local hike
From Daza. Cool hike for being so close, no one around. Went on to Eagle Peak later.

From SDCE Daza Drive
About 1h 10m to the summit log cannister. For those interested in the 'true summit,' you will need to bushwhack about 0.6m from the summit log to the point furthest SE. Easy bushwhack over easy terrain to great views of El Capitan Reservoir, Eagle Peak and the Cuyamacas.
Trail run from Daza Dr/Sarda Ct to the top of Mount Gower: 42 min up, 32 min down.

Nice climb
After bushwacking in from a street in the San Diego Country Estates, I caught the Swartz Canyon trail up a ridge and to the base of the west face of Mt. Gower. From here I scrambled the boulders to the summit. I ran into several other hikers on the trail and met a few at the summit. Overall an excellent climb.
