Overnight backpack camping at Frypan Meadow. Kennedy on Day 1 and Harrington on Day 2. Harrington has great views from the summit and the final climb along the north ridge was great fun!
Quick Monarch Divide trip that included Goat, State, Kennedy, and Harrington. Met Lou and Samantha on top -- coincidence in such a remote place.

North Ridge
Lots of snow above 9000 feet, luckily it wasn't a factor on the ridge. Camped at Frypan Meadow and climbed Kennedy on day one, Harrington's north ridge on day two and out that afternoon. Very pleased with the views- perhaps the clearest I have ever seen the Central Valley.

North Ridge
Started from Deer Cove trailhead and camped the night before at ~8100'. Beautiful weather, very nice scrambling. Lots of wildflowers blooming on the way up.
Patchy snow started around 9500'. Lower Grizzly Lake was melted out. No mosquitoes on Saturday night, but there were some on Sunday afternoon near Cedar Grove.

Harrington-Kennedy dayhike starting from the Lewis Creek TH. Tried to climb the Southeast Ridge like Matthew, but was similarly stymied. Trip Report
Route Climbed: South Arete / North Ridge Date Climbed: July 9, 2005
I tried to climb the south arete initially, but bailed on that not too far from the top when I came to some relatively difficult moves (a short section of maybe 5.4-5.5) that were badly exposed and would be sketchy to reverse/downclimb if I ran into problems further on. (I couldn't tell what was higher up, had no beta on the route, but it turned out those were the crux moves--and if I'd climbed them, I'd have been past all the difficulties and pretty much been on the summit. C'est la vie).
Instead, I ended up traversing across the west face and climbing the north ridge--easy third class, especially in comparison to the south arete. Nice views, although a controlled burn in Grant Grove meant they were a bit hazy.
Dayhike out of the Deer Cove trailhead. Continued on to Hogback Peak; I'd intended to traverse further to Kennedy Mtn., but lateness of the day and hazy views caused me to leave that for another time.

Climbed with: Pat, Bob, Tony, Vishal, and Paul. This was my first climb with the Sierra Club Peak Climbing Section (PCS) and it was a great trip. Pat (PCS Trip Leader), Bob, Tony, Vishal, and I hiked into Grizzly Lakes the first day (10/27) and ran into Paul Wilms who would climb to the summit with us the next morning. Paul has climbed around the world including Huascaran Sur and just returned from the Bolivian Andes. On the morning of the 10/28, we summitted under beautiful weather and virtually no wind. Afterwards, we hiked out via the Deer Cove Trail while Vishal and Paul stayed behind and climbed nearby Kennedy Mountain the next day (Monday). Beautiful "Indian Summer" with temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s. We were the first entry in the summit register since October 6, 2000 - over a year ago!

Via North RidgeA very enjoyable and airy bit of 3rd class to get to the summit. Great views from the top and hordes of wildlife on the way up. A splendid climb!
