Route Climbed: webster trail Date Climbed: 16 aug 2003
Tropical heat and humidity for most of the climb; wind, fog, rain, lightning, even a little hail above treeline. Tagged the summit and beat a hasty retreat.
Route Climbed: Osgood Trail from Madison Hut Date Climbed: September 2003
Great hike, long day, but well worth it. Went in on the Great Gulf trail to Madison Gulf, up to Madison Hut, over to Adams on Airline, back down to Madison Hut, over the Osgood Trail to Madison, down Osgood to the Great Gulf trail and back out.
Route Climbed: Valley Way--Osgood trail Date Climbed: June 8, 2003
Got misdirected by a ranger and went 45 mins out of our way before consulting a topo and backtracking to the start of the Osgood trail (behind Madison Hut) the Osgood Junction is the LONG way around. Lesson learned: Don't take advice that you didn't ask for.
This was part of a presidential traverse.

Route Climbed: AT
Hit this one on my 2000 AT thruhike. Had a wonderful experience on the way over from Washington but didn't get to moon the train.
Route Climbed: Northern Presidential Traverse - Great Gulf/Osgood Date Climbed: 6/25/02
First summit in my Presidential Traverse attempt - summited in 3 1/2 hours. Weather was great...a little bit warm, as I was sweating to death, but no wind and great views. My first "northern" Presidential mountain....and a nice one at that. If you want to escape the crowds of Mt. Washington, this is a good place to start. Only saw one other hiker on the way to the summit...
Route Climbed: Most of them. Date Climbed: Many times 1993-1998
All of my Eastern U.S. hiking and climbing is just a blur. I know I've been to the summit of Mount Madison about 6-8 times, but I can't remember the specifics of any of the trips!
Route Climbed: Osgood / Great Gulf Date Climbed: October 4, 1997
This was my 5th trip to the Whites, my 6th mountain hiking trip overall (the first was Killington, VT), and my first with Josh. Nice day but overcast. I remember wanting to come back and camp up above treeline during the winter. I came back a 2nd time with 2 other friends but we turned around just below treeline because one of them wasn't feeling well.
