Nice hike, but the state park is too developed. A generator at a nearby lodge could be heard for a significant portion of the stretch near the top. The longer ascent trails are a better alternative.

Woke up in Little Rock to an ice storm. Ice covered roads greeted us on our way up the mountain. We were the only ones on the mountain. Ran up the mountain in an ice storm. Took a couple pics, tried to sign the book, but it was frozen shut. Great hike. No views because of the storm, but it was awesome.

First stop on a five state trip. When I got there, the campground was full so I had to spend the night in my truck at the lodge parking lot. I woke to a rainy morning which made the hike to Signal Hill fun. Not much to see from the summit, but some good views from the drive off the mountain.

20th high point!
A great day for a great short hike! It was very cold that night. I camped really close to the summit.

The long way up...
To add a bit more to the "climb", we started at the lodge, over to Mossback Ridge trail, connecting to Bear Hollow (nice views at Sunrise rock)..over to Will's Apple Road trail with a short descent to check out Buckman's pool)...short stop to "refuel" at the visitor's center (I don't recommend the coffee in the machine---more like brown colored water)....onto North Rim Trail (and the best part in my opinion)...then finally up Signal Hill (I agree the map marker up there is cool) and back down the opposite way to the lodge. State #6!

State high point #3 for me. Beautiful fall colors and weather, but no views on the actual summit. Awesome views from the lookouts. The hang gliders were pretty cool!
Reached the top of the Ozarks! woohoo. Very easy hike but I really enjoy exploring in the Ozarks and especially reaching state HP # 8. On to the other southern HPs.

Dad carried me up. It was a nice sunny, breezy day. There were lots of pretty butterflies. I slept a little bit. I spit up too.

Another fairly silly state highpoint. While the "mountain" has some interesting cliffs, to get to the top you pretty much drive up and stroll through the woods to a clearing there....hmmm I don't mean to sound like a snob, but really people, I guess it's a good day in the woods, stop and sit on the cliffs and enjoy the view of the valley on the way up.

Perfect Day Hike
Drove down from Kansas to visit my 50th state and climb my 23rd highpoint. It was also my first peak with my 2 month old daughter! Nice trail (North Rim), warm breeze, several species of butterflies - it was truly a great day.

This was a really nice highpoint, and I like the granite "picture" of Arkansas on the ground.
I actually got up on the rocks and tried to take a pic looking down on that picture in the ground. It turned out okay...

Signal Hill Trail
It was a beautiful day in the morning and it was pleasant hearing all the Ovenbirds calling in the foilage. Flat on top but they sure let you know you are there. Hiked it with my wife.
