Quality hike up, the trail is pretty well established, but lots of loose rock. views from the top are tremendous though. great climb with good weather!

7FJ and Maude
Both peaks are pretty nice. Outside of the regular trail down below, pretty much had the entire area to ourselves. The trail is in very good shape overall with some minor blowdowns. Plenty of camping spots with easy access to water. We even got a fire going to stay warm in the cool evening. Did 7FJ on Saturday and Maude on Sunday. 7FJ has a few snow crossings so an ice axe is very useful but no spikes needed. Rock is a bit tedious near summit for sure. You can invent some scramble routes if you want to make things more interesting. Views were very nice of all the surrounding peaks. Took the gully down. Watch your step because I slipped and fell and crashed into the side of the gully. Maude was less exciting. The gully route is just a lot of choss and talus. The ridge is an easy walkup to summit. It was snowing up here so no views. Tried to get clever and took some random gully down to camp. It ended up being crazy dangerous and we nearly kicked some big boulders down on our own group. Might as well have just taken the trail all the way down. These peaks are the ones that seem like they should be fast but end up taking a lot longer than you think.
A 4 day trip with Heather right after she returned from her speed record hike of the Appalachian Trail. Maude was a mellow peak with a lovely view. Check out the trip report for more details.

Beautiful day to climb! Followed the climbers path from the Leroy basin all the way down to the southwest ridge, down into some snow and back up to the shoulder. Great views!

Traverse from 7FJ
Long day hike up Leroy Basin...went up 7FJ first then traversed over to Maude. Got stuck traversing the entire west face of Maude because I ascended too soon! Made it more interesting though.

a LONG day
decided to do a solo day trip up maude to get myself in shape for an upcoming trip to the himalayas. started in before it got light, and got back to the car after it got dark. it was a long tiresome day, but so beautiful none the less. great weather and I met a very fat, lazy, and friendly marmot along the trail.
Part of a week long trip in the Entiat highlands, went up the easy SE side. I remember acting a little too casual around the cliffy summit and being sharply reprimanded

Maude via Carne High Route
What a gorgeous area! I took the Carne Mountain high route...much more scenic and went cross-country from Chipmunk Creek basin to Ice Lakes. I'm hoping to come back for South Spectacle Butte and 7 Fingers later via Leroy Basin.

pleasant september trip
Nice camping in the Leroy Creek basin. Took this gully up (class 4+) and steep slope to pop out high up on the ridge. came back from saddle above Ice Lakes and lost trail. I could see the basin where my camp was and just bushwhacked in that direction until I got back to the trail.

My good friend Joanna wanted to help my brother Josh celebrate his birthday. We had a wonderful time eating cake and taking in views of the surrounding peaks opening up with larches.

SW gullies
Hot, loose class 3. 11:13 for the triple is insane -- I don't think I could come close.
My first mountain, thanks to Bob Bolton and Duane Gilliland.
I was in my mid teens at the time and climbed with some old steel toed work boots which were incredibly slick and cold. Good memories! I've been hooked on Mountains ever since!

Approach via Leroy Cr with R3. Good hike up with snow slide on way down. Recommend the high route on the way out, little bushy, but very beautiful.
