Easy One
Hit this one from Wolverine. Hiked down to the lakes and then out via Catherine's Pass. Fantastic area!

Climbed at least 4 different times. Today was like one year ago. We parked at Brighton lift ticket building, climbed Mt. Majestic and circled Brighton to the south and west, hitting every 10,000' peak to Wolverine, then topped Millicent before heading down. This was completely on snow and included some hilarious and surprising post holing exercises but no life-threatening injuries. Six hours & fifteen minutes of fun at the resort which was closed for the season. Too bad: all that snow.
Hiked it on Labor Day and actually didn't see a person at all from beginning to summit. I very much enjoyed the boulder hopping to the summit, which makes up for a lackluster hike up the service road for the ski lift. The summit has great views and due to the steepness of the last little bit made it feel very exposed.
I remember doing it when I was around ten with the entire family, still do it on a regular basis. was rather annoyed to see all the Gasex machines on the bowl side.

Brighton Ridge with autumn snow
Last peak of a gorgeous fall day on a semi-snowy hike from Sunset Peak over Tuscarora and Wolverine. We hadn't thought through the best way down ahead of time, so just started down the pile of boulders, staying on the Lake Mary side where it wasn't as slippery, and ended up dropping off the ridge and down a gully to the lake.

Brighton Ridge 5-Peak Traverse
Hiked the Brighton Ridge to Millicent, Woverine, Tuscarora, Sunset Peak, and Pioneer Peak. Tremendous fun! Millicent's NE ridge is easy snow hiking. Wolverine/Tuscarora is easy snow hiking as well. Sunset is a bit harder because there is a Class 3/4 rock spine in the middle of the ridge. I chose to bypass the rock spine onto a 38 degree, north facing slope which brought me back onto the ridge. Only use that bypass under total stable snow conditions. Pioneer Peak was a beast. 3' snow drifts on the ridge about every 20 feet. Hiking down off of Pioneer was 2' of soft powder all the way to Brighton. Good workout! Views are oustanding. Highly recommended.

Evening Hike
With my wife out of town with the babies, I took the opportunity to go on an evening hike. I chose Milly. From Silver Lake. 1:15 to the summit. The air in the canyon was very hazy tonight, almost opressive. I was seriously considering a continued hike to Wolverine and Tuscarora, and then return by the small lakes, but daylight was fading fast and I did not want to be boulder-hopping in the dark.

Climbed the east face right of center to the North ridge and bolder hopped to the summit. Decended the West ridge to Wolverine and Tuscarora. Nice Fall afternoon loop hike. Saw four buck and two Mountain Goats, no people : )
