Gorgeous day with fog in the forest, clear above tree line looking down on a sea of clouds, then it all cleared up. But a kid fell off the top just before we got there, somehow survived, and we watched the heli rescue.
The one that started it all, at the tender age of eight.

Spring Snow on Pilchuck
Had to walk the last mile or so of the road to the trailhead on snowshoes. Between the mist and the snowpack we didn't exactly end up anywhere near the trail but made it to the hut regardless.

sun and snow
Got to make my own tracks for the last half mile or so to the summit. Nobody else up there on a fantastic morning.
I summited this Mountain many times when I was younger. I loved the lookout on top that was almost always open. One of the best lookouts I've seen.

First Washington Peak!
Was in Granite Falls for a family reunion and really wanted to climb a peak so I'm glad this was nearby. There was SO much snow left and TONS of people on the mountain! The view was incredible and well worth the short hike.

Our new local peak. First took Erik up there within first month in Washington- he was 1.5 years old. Nice hike - we are a little slower now that he and Owen want to walk.

In Snow is awesome
First time in the snow is great, you can shortcut directly across the slope. In '09 did it with a few friends after the snow was gone. The trail is fairly awesome I suppose.

Nice hikeNice hike up in the snow and ice. Lookout was open and provided a nice place for lunch. No views due to cloud cover.
