Pleasant fire road walk
There was an opportunistic goat near the summit along with the various antennae etc.

Spring Hike
Beautiful in the spring, while most of the surrounding countryside is still green. I wouldn't want to do this hike in summer, as there is little shade along the fire road. Views from the summit are spectacular if you can keep the giant communications towers at your back.

Wet and Windy
Hiked this one with a group of boys from our Boy Scout troop. Quite an adventure. Rained all the way up and all the way down. This was one of those "let's tag the top and get the heck out of here" trips.

best view of Napa
Here or Jack London State park, is the best view of the valley. Trail is a bit dull and telecoms antennae are at the top.

nice view of napa, uninspiring walk
One of the best views of Napa region. I preferred the fire trail and scenery in Jack London State Park however.
Once in 2001 and once in 2005. When in Napa Valley, I like to hike in the morning, and drink wine in the afternoon...

Had to be down and back in Calistoga before wife woke up. Just bonus on a wine tasting trip. About 2.5 hours r/t.

A fine day in Napa with MaiAnh. 3.5 hrs round trip. Great views the whole way. Fairly crowded with hikers and climbers on the descent.

Snow Hike
Training hike with 50#s of water. Plenty of snow on the top and heavy snow was falling as I headed down. Took the climbers route down to save some time. Not a good idea in the rain!

Boring but great views
Road my bike up, boring ride, great views from the top though. Got napa county high point which is pretty pointless since your looking down at it from the main summit

Disappointing
Successful climb to North Peak, but spaced out and missed county high point at East Peak! Unbelievable disappointment for neophyte county high pointer!! Thankfully Cobb Mt. was blunder free! It's a pretty boring out and back but for the views...guess I'll have to return for the East Peak at a later date.

Shadedd
Hit the trailhead at 4:30 AM and bike/hiked 2 miles before sunrise. Three more miles and I was alone at the top for an hour before two trucks came racing up the fire road to work. Awesome views of every Mountain I've climbed or want to climb. Shasta here I come! Car broken into and random items stolen. Go ahead and wrap that phone charger around your neck. Don't leave your car in the Dark! The sunrise was nice but not worth the Banditos.

The Good and the Bad
The good: Great views of the valley once you're about a third of the way up. The only vertical of much significance that's nearby if you live in the Napa area.
The bad: The summit itself is less than stellar and the views of the valley don't improve past mile 2. However, if it's an exceptionally clear day you can see a lot from the summit. Also, this would be a great spot for sunrise or sunset photography.
