Via Dark Canyon
The Station Fire scars are healing up nicely. Not crowded despite being a beautiful Saturday afternoon, though both the fire station and Dark Canyon trailheads certainly were. Views of Big T (incl. dam and bridge) were outstanding.
ROUTE: MT. LUKENS FIRE ROAD DATE CLIMBED: FEB. 27, 2005
The Mt. Lukens Fire Road is one of my favorite running and biking trails. I've done the 7.5 mile route to Mt. Lukens numerous times both running and biking. The trailhead beginning at the Angeles Crest Fire Station is one of the closest to the population centers at the bottom of the San Gabriel Mountains.
