North fork trail to the south face

This was a day hike from the whitney portal, up the north fork trail, to the south face of Mt. Russell. It took approximately 14 hrs from start to finish. The conditions were perfect, nice hard packed snow, freezing in the morning and not much more than 45 degrees during the day. We had climbing gear but we decided to leave it at the camp site so we could travel faster. We followed the north fork to upper boyscout lake, took a quick 20 minute power nap, then headed up to the second lake, up a steep chute, then to a long scree slope which lead to our route on the south face. I'm not sure which route it was, but it was pretty cool...especially when we stepped off the side to start the downclimb. Here is the link to the video.
