Big Dipper is BigWithout personal knowledge of that skyline, it's hard to see how big the Big Dipper really is. I once saw the Big Dipper laid out just above the horizon of the Atlantic from the Azores. Just like the moon and the sun, constellations appear huge when seen on the horizon. Couple years back I was camping at Philmont Scout Ranch, NM, Cassiopea was standing on end above the Tooth of Time--an awe-inspiring sight. I'm sure you must have felt the same way when taking the above image!
