This peak is a good ways back there. Camped in Grouse meadows and went up the drainage west of Cataract Creek past a few nice lakes and meadows to the top. Lots of bear sign, but no bears seen. What a cool and remote peak!

Climbed on a memorable day hike with Bob Burd. Then traversed to Shakspere before dropping back to the JMT and head for home. 22 hour RT. Uffff-da.

From Observation Pass
Tame climb from the pass with outstanding views at the top. Seems that there's an owl community up here as I saw one and other TRs speak of seeing owls as well. Climb part of the High Sierra Route Part 1 trip.
