"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Gorgeous PeakStrolled across Boulder Creek basin to Peak Z after climbing Peak X. A remote 13er in a remote range made for a great day.

XYZTraversed to Z via X and Y. From X the ridge looks very intimidating, early on dropping left was necessary for 2 or 3 large steps on the ridge. Then you can stay on the crest pretty much all the way to Y and on towards Z before 2 towers just before the Z saddle had me dropping right. Z has great summit views!
Repeated this traverse plus Z Prime with Rachael and Craig on 8/14/16 as well, 2nd time up Z.

south ridgeGot a double dose of the Pitkin Lake trail after doing the Partner traverse the day before. Followed it to 11020' and went over Useable Pass. Had a party on the summit of Z for Sarah's 500th ranked 13er in CO. Kudos, Sarah! Continued on to Y and X for a nice ridge run. The ridge is easier than it looks with just a few towers to drop below.

Route Climbed: South Slopes Date Climbed: 7-12-2005I soloed this one. I broke it up into a two day excursion with the intention of keeping my knees in good order. It's a long trip out there, but well worth the effort.
