From Paris Lake
We'd planned to blow right by here the day before, but storms forced us to camp at Paris Lake. While passing time pouring over maps, I realized that this guy could offer some potentially outstanding views of the area for relatively little effort. When it was clear in the morning, I didn't hesitate to head that way. Of course I was handsomely rewarded for my decision at upon reaching the summit.

From the saddle
A nice peak to run up while I was cruising from one side of the pass to the other on a backpacking trip. A rather short and fun scramble to the top with superb views in all directions!
Climbed three times over the years when camped in Humphreys basin. Easy climb to fantastic views of the area

Alt Sierra Challenge 2013 peak. Started with the Challenge gang but broke off at Piute pass when they headed to Keyhole Plateau. Not the rest day I was expecting but still a great walk across Humphrey's Basin. Pictures & Story

Knob Job
From Knob Lake, I ascended straight up, so that would be SE face. Started with scree but eventually became super fun Class 2 boulder jumping. Pretty fun for a quickie! Alpine start gave me a grand view of sunrise across the basin while climbing.
Day 3 of SC 2005. Set a negative SC record taking 23 hr 55 min to complete this climb. Ouch!

From Humphreys Basin
Climbed during a stormy weekend from Piute Pass along with Mount Humphreys the next day. Set up camp in the basin and headed over to Pilot Knob the first afternoon.
Was stopped for about 45 minutes en route crossing the basin, then again at the saddle laying under a boulder for three hours waiting out the rain and lightning. Was worth the wait. Similar experiences with rain and hail the next two days.
