From Marie Lakes
A stunning area to be sure! The obvious saddle above the highest Marie Lake is what I went for and from there it was an interesting, and careful, 3rd class route to the scree leading to the summit.

Up the NE ridge & down the SE Ridge w/11981
From Rush Creek TH with Toshi. Loosely followed the water and snow covered trails up to frozen Marie Lakes. Waited out thunderstorms for a couple hours. Summitted Rodgers at dusk. Slept on summit. Returned via Peak 11981 and Davis Lakes glissading and hiking x-country to the dam and footbridge at Waugh Lake before following the water and snow covered trail to Gem Lake and back to the TH. Got a refreshing swim in at a small lake just north of Waugh.

NE Ridge
From Rush Creek via Marie Lakes. Nice area, and more fun climbing than it looked. Trip report
Up the SE Ridge from Silver Lake trailhead- great views all around. Afterwards over to Point 12573 and Electra.
As of now someone has left a couple shots of vodka in a small container on the summit. Perhaps would make the long walk out more enjoyable, but I left it as is.
Guess I didn't get enough of the Rush Creek Trail from Electra... it was just as tedious on the return as last time, if not more so because of the 90 minutes of thundershowers drenching me. The ascent went well though, with any snow patches being soft enough to walk up and warm enough to not need gloves. I do believe the class 3(hardly) notch to the west to be better then the standard class 2 route to get over to lake 11,250'.

Day2, 2007 Sierra Challenge
Hehe - this one was a pretty crappy choice for a Challenge peak, but I knew that going in. While the NE Ridge provided some nice scrambling, definitely not worth the effort expended on the approach. Trip Report

Day 2, 2007 Sierra Challenge. Long dayhike from Silver Lake via the extremely dusty Rush Creek Trail. Fun class 3 ridge. ~12h car to car.

Rodgers Peak Can Blow Me!
OK.....26 miles roundtrip....and all I got was a SHORT bit of 3rd class scrambling?! That's like pulling the boob out of a starving baby's mouth!! Never heading to that peak again! :P Made it to this peak just after the first 9 Sierra Challenge participants left the summit. Definitely draggin' tail that day! Car-to-car: 13hrs 40min

NE Ridge
26-mile, ~12 hour dayhike from Silver Lake as part of the '07 Sierra Challenge (Day 2). There were 9 of us on the summit at once, probably some kind of record for this peak. The NE ridge was fine class 3 scrambling... long approach though.

SE Ridge
Approached via Davis lakes from my basecamp near Rush Creek. Returned via Rodgers Lakes. 1st register entry of the year.

Dayhike from Silver Lake--the second recorded in the register since 1984. (Someone beat me to this, dayhiking it out of Silver Lake back in 1991. Oh well).
Great views, and a very enjoyable day. The NE chute was more fun than I was expecting.
