Cloudy and foggy in the valley. Sun and clear skies above 1900 m (5700 ft.). The High Tatra range is looking like islands in an ocean of clouds. Perfect!
few times from Polish side and Slovakian, mostly in summer
2003-2006.I had different weather,a little snow,wind,rain...I like views from this mountain

My best views from Rysy so far
After climbing Koprowy Wierch/Kôprovský Štít in the morning, we had ample time left to scale this peak as well. As the weather was fabulous, there were a lot of people on the trail. On the way down we had a chat with the people running the hut below the summit. Soon they will construct a new building a bit higher up, out of the path of avalanches. We carried some stuff down to Popradske pleso for them as they were preparing to mostly close down the place for the winter season.

My favourite border-crossing :) Visited several times:
Aug 2005: Backpacking from Strbské Pleso to Morskie Oko, and back. Not much view this time...
July 2006: Backpacking from chata pod Rysmi to Schronisko Piec Stawów (Polish Five Lakes' hut), and back. Had more luck with the view.
Aug 2007: Backpacking from chata pod Rysmi to Schronisko Piec Stawów (full view!), and back (soaking rain, rockslide). Also an evening visit from Chata pod Rysmi, sunset with clouds.
Aug 2010: Day-trip from Popradské pleso. Fabulous weather and massive crowds.
Very nice day. We started very early about 3 o'clock. We met a curious cub at Chata pri Popradskom plese. Reached the summit about half past eight. Bright morning. Exquisite.

nice day
Went up the normal way from Polish side. I hiked with my heavy backpack up to the hut/hostel the day before (hut at the scenic lake )unaware that there are horses that take you up most of the way..
Next morning great weather and about 6 hours to the top and back.
Easy in good weather. Some chains close to the summit = good when icy. Few people coming from Polish side, but saw many coming up from the easier Slovak side. At the hut I walked a few hundred meters down and jumped on one of the horse wagons/ cart to take me down. Nice ride.
Began the ascent at 8 AM in cloudy weather. Then it turned worse, and we had some smaller rain showers during walking up. A lot of people were attempting. Arrived about at noon to the summit, visited both peaks. Then we spotted a quickly forming raincloud heading just towards us. Quickly started descent, and just arrived to the Chata Pod Rysmi chalet before a heavy rainshower. After waiting a while, we continued, but just before reaching the chain-insured section, another thunderstorm struck us, with an even heavier rainshower with ice. Fortunately we survived it without thunderstrike, and finished descent by 5 PM.
By the way, we really enjoyed this tour.

More than twenty times in my life, all the year by feet or by skis :-) Last time in September 2005
We were a group of five, with my mom again and went up from the Slovak side. The traffic was unbelievable and some youngsters were pretty intolerant both towards the others and the nature. Just below the summit they touched off a rock avalanche and had a great time watching it and laughing. Luckily, nobody was hurt.
It was neverthless a very enjoyable trip and I hope to return there soon.
