Saddle Mtns sister peak a good hike
I disagree with the statement that Saddle Mountain's sister peak to the east is not worth hiking. There's a faint trail to the top which zigzags over/under/around many obstacles and it's lots of fun.
I met two guys who have hiked SM every month for 11 years (130 consecutive months). They say January is the best time due to minimum surface vegetation and warmer weather than the Cascades. My hike day was 100% ideal conditions, dry and warm.
Will never forget the strange chain-link trail and trees on this one. Fun, easy, and straight-forward.

The End Of A Great Peakbagging Weekend!
This peak has intrigued me for some time. The appearance and prominence of it sticks out like a sore thumb from southwestern Washington and northwestern Oregon. Great trail, except for slipping a few times from the rain (or perhaps from exhaustion from the big weekend), and the low clouds ruined views.
This peak completed my big highpointing weekend that stretched west from Strawberry Mountain to Saddle Mountain. Seven CoHPs during the trip, 11 summits overall, and nearly 1350 miles RT.

Beautiful Area...
The nasty weather conditions added to the awesomeness... I will go back someday for the views.
