A Chaos of Rock  Sucess!

Rocks in every shape and shade in this long hike interspersed with a few chockstone obstacles; three I found tough as a solo hiker. The worst one was a disc of rock jammed edgewise over a pool. 15 inches of water in April 2019. But the last half mile before the dryfall had an unexpected surprise: A pocket pine (or cedar) forest.

storm approaching  Sucess!

Hiked for about an hour or so up Sheets Gulch until we noticed some threatening clouds in the sky. Having just negotiated a narrows section, we figured it would be best to turn back. Would like to come back and explore more some day!

Pleasant day hike  Sucess!

Not as dramatic as Cottonwood and Burro, but worthwhile for a "meditative" hike

Sheets Gulch  Sucess!

Sheets Gulch is a nice hike that everyone can enjoy. There is also a neat looking arch on the side of the canyon that is known as Elephant Arch.
