After camping at Lake Grace and quickly climbing Big Chiwaukum in the morning, I returned to camp and then headed back to the trail to work back to the South Ridge of Snowgrass. From the trail, could not locate defined route to start this ascent, so finally set off up short cascading creek from a point relatively close to Lake Mary. Entered a meadow basin and started working up grassy slopes toward summit. Upon gaining ridge, continued up until the terminus of the grassy slopes. Tried to continue on ridge, but was quickly finding c3 w/ exposure, and concluded that it was about to get super hardcore (as in c5 exposed up and down gendarme hopping), so I backed off. Almost defeated, I noticed a navigable dirt & choss gully that dropped to the East from the grassy ridge, just a short distance from where the easy grassy ridge terminates. Descended gully about 200 feet, then was able to finish ascent in about 30 minutes on loose c2 terrain with brief easy snow crossings. Took almost 6 h RT from the Wildhorse/Lake Grace trail junction, but I was tired and futzing along.

Snowgrass, Ladies, Cape Horn, Grindstone
We went to both summits of Snowgrass. 4 peaks in 2 days. Camped near Lake Edna.
Something funky is going on with mosquitoes this year. They have been bad the last two trip but this time they were worse than I've ever seen in my life. I was able to kill 5 or 10 with one swat. They followed us everywhere, even to the summit of Grindstone.
