Freeway of LoveLooks like the freeway of love on "Da Hood". Most of my family lives in Sandy. This mountain has provided us all with a lot of entertainment, but above Timberline is a ZOO!

Re: Freeway of LoveSandy is a neat area. I have a daughter who lives near Sherwood so I get to the Portland area fairly regularly and from time to time I take the drive up through Sandy and drive the backway to Hood River. Nice drive and great scenery.

Wow!I have never seen the hogsback that crowded. It also seems a bit dangerous to have that many on the mountain. Great shot Dean.

Re: Wow!Mt. Hood is best avoided on holidays. Of course, the best time to climb Mt. Hood is around this time of the year.

Unbelievable! It gets this crowded? I feel quite lucky to have gone when I went which there was only a handful of climbers that day.

Re: Unbelievable!Memorial Day is always crowded like this if there is good weather. It was actually fun to be part of the "parade" since most of the peaks I hit are devoid of people.

Wasn't this nice on my ill fated attempt.Sure, the mountain was nearly empty, but it was late July and extremely icy. I was alone--well equipped, but at the Pearly Gates I thought about my family far away and made the right call. 10/10 great picture
