South Face route. This route...

South Face route. This route begins at the water tower in the city of Alpine. It climbs to the First Hamongog, Second Hamongog, then up the South Face to the summit. The route has a few class 3-4 sections on the summit ridge. The rest is class 2. Although not technically difficult, the route is very physically demanding.

I think your approach description . . .

is off. 2nd Hamongog is gained from the Schoolhouse Springs TH near the Dry Creek TH.. Jacobs Ladder is quite a ways further west!

Actually, I've finished mapping the area - while the topos show no trail, apparently a backcountry skiing map shows a trail spur heading from Jacob'd Ladder over there. Considering that this map shows the Big & Little Willow trails that no other map does, it is probably accurate for the area despite the discrepancy. I'll add a trails overview map for the area soon!
