South Side of Hispar Sar (6400m)

Hispar Sar is located on the north side of the Hispar Glacier between the Yutmaru (Jutmo) and Khani Basa Glaciers. It is in the Hipar Muztagh which forms part of the central crest og the Karakoram. The mountain remains unclimbed despite a number of attempts. By far the closest being Simon Yates and Andy Parkin in 2004 who climbed a mixed ice couloir (Super Coulour: ED+, Scottish IV - VI) on the SW face during early October. Unfortunately they could not continue to the summit due to a ba storm. Rock quality is poor on the mountain.
