Star Peak Splitmo
Great morning on this Ultra Prom. Drove a ways up Star Creek drainage and parked when the snow got too deep. Skinned to the bottom of the East Couloir, booted from there. Very calm wind, just a little fog on the summit, but views were still to be had. Excellent turns coming down the coulior. Took 12 min to get from the summit back to the car. NV County highpoint # 9.
Returned in March 2023 to take advantage of the epic snow pack, skied East Couloir again.

Neat Little Sojurn
Myself and a friend climbed this one on a weekend for a good workout with great views. My car made it to 7200' before the road got too steep; hike was about three miles out in steep terrain. Views included Disaster Peak, the Ruby Mountains, Eagle Peak, Mount Patterson, Arc Dome and Mount Rose. This was my first ultra-prominent peak; 10/10 would recommend if you are in the area.

Sunny day
I think my Civic managed to get above 5000 feet. Four hour and thirty minute hike up the road otherwise, accompanied by crickets, lizards, and a few birds of prey. Still some snow patches on northeast facing sides above 9500 feet.

37 peaks in 19 days
There was bad weather for weeks in WA so Heather and I drove through OR, CA, NV, UT, and ID. We climbed 37 peaks in 19 days. We parked at the mining buildings and hiked Star during the day and Tobin later during that evening. It was our 7th day and very hot. Star was my 44th world ultra-prominence peak. trip report

via Eldorado Canyon
I jeeped up the road almost all the way to the top; but I did hike the last stretch from the end of the 4WD road.
Straightforward trip up the service road. Bit of snow on the flat section of the road and on the summit ridge. Heavy winds above 9k made walking difficult for the last mile.
Nice hike via the road from El Dorado Canyon. I parked just above a saddle at 7300', which was pretty reasonable in my 4wd full size pickup. The road from there climbed a 40% grade, which is pretty freakin steep for a road, and my legs were burning within a minute. Still a couple snow patches up high.

Maybe?
I think I reached the summit, but in a whiteout with 5" of fresh snow on the ground. It's a nice-looking mountain, from what I saw the day before. Trip report.

El Dorado Canyon
I was able to drive to a sharp switchback at 7000 feet where I decided to park as the road was getting pretty steep and a little muddy. From here it was a quick roadhike up to 8700 feet then straight up the ridge to summit. From the valley floor it appeared there might be a lot of snow on the mountain, but once we were up on the mountain it became evident that very little snow remained.
Thanks to Bob Burd for the Ridge Traverse idea. After summiting Star did Van Zant and Thunder - with Thunder being the most fun with a little third class.

Another Gorgeous Day in Paradise
Drove to the old mining site in Eldorado Canyon and parked around 5800ft. Took the road most of the way and left it below the first obvious old tower... Cold and windy with minimal snow made for a quick summit shot with my pups before eating lunch elsewhere.

quick trip. drove up to about 7800ft. The road is in great shape but pretty darn steep. Good views and worth a hike if you happen to be driving down I-80 (or are a ultra bagger). Just a little bit of snow.
