Peekaboo views from the "summit", mostly to the north. At least Scorpion Mountain kind of made up for what Sunrise Mountain lacked. The TH doesn't really meet the criteria for a TH that requires a USFS parking permit. It's literally just a dead end- on a road that should by all rights continue another mile. No services of any kind, and no signage either. First of four summits on the day.

Nearly missed the summit
Not much of a mountain per se. In June there was still plenty of snow and the "summit" was just a fairly flat clearing. Enjoyable day hike, the scenery was great.

This is a summit?
Didn't realize that this would be considered a summit, oh well, another notch on my belt

Cold and Windy
Nice to be back in the Wild Sky. Sunrise felt more like a high point on the ridge. I guess it is. Bryan an I continued on to Scorpion. There were some small snow flurries on the way back. I'd like to go back some day in late summer to pick from those numerous berry bushes.

Foggy Day!!!
The forecast was for a mostly sunny day, but the area around this mountain was foggy and cloudy all morning. The trail was in better condition than I expected, and some sections were steeper than I anticipated. I enjoyed following Johnson Ridge Trail #1067 so much I continued to Scorpion Mountain and Joan Lake.

Decent viewsThere are decent views from this summit but the views are far better on Scorpion. This trail is well worth visiting especially on a clear fall day.

Hot dayWith my dog Luna on our way to Scorpion. Does it count as two summits if you have to hike over it again on the way out?
