Grand day out...
Great route on good neve..Daves first day out in crampons so roped up but moved together for most of it...nice cornice at the top. Great finale to a grand day out after doing Left parallel Gully BCC, down swiral, up Gully 2 Red Tarn Face then down striding and finally up Nethermost Gully.

very good climb
Nice route with couple of rocky/icy steps.Good finish through cornice.Again Feb 2010,surprisingly less snow, more ice on upper part=more fun!
Well John must have done it if you say so! Seem to remember it being fairly busy with a pause as a couple of groups ahead of us determined their route, before we went to the right over some blue ice. Certainly remember the exhilaration having completed it.
A great route taking you near to the top of Helvellyn.
We didnt know if it had any snow in it. You cant see untill you have gone all the way into the cove...but it did. It looked a poor amount even then, but on closer inspection we saw it was just fine.
Its an easy route by many peoples standards I'm sure. But Mark Rapley, Dietmar, Hamish, Nigel and myself had a great time on our first ascent of it. Not too easy, we still felt some exposure on the steepest part. The exit on an old Cornice was fine too.
