Yep!It can get crowded; still ever so often it is fun to go there. It is can be a good place to take someone who hasn't climbed before.

Weekdays !I think the best time to go to Castle Rock state park is on weekday afternoons or evenings, weather & season permitting :)

Re: Weekdays !hahaha ! I live about 30 minutes away from this place and have a flexible schedule, so I like to get up there on weekdays when it's dry. In the spring / summer when the sun doesn't go down until 7-9 pm you can still get a few hours climbing in after work :)
Last season we would meet @ 5:30pm in the pullout next to the park. I'm sure we will do the same this year.

Re: Weekdays !Quit bragging! It takes me at least an hour and a half to get to get to Castle Rock from Santa Cruz. So I see more weeknight gym climbing in my future. :-(
