Southeast GatheringWorking with a bad knee so my first attempt to climb it via a longer trail did not work well. I ended up summiting via the shorter route.

A warm dry climb to fantastic views on the final day of summerTable Rock offers spectacular views of the Gorge below and Hawksbill Mountain. Unlike many of the other highpoints I have visited in the South, Table Rock had a number of visitors on its summit. Perhaps this was due to the unusually warm and dry weather we have been experiencing in East Tennessee/Western Carolina. For solitude and equally breathtaking views, I recommend Sitting Bear.

East FaceMy brother, Steve, and I climbed the East Face via Jim Dandy and the 3rd pitch of Cave Route. Great climbing in a spectacular setting!
