Tatoosh LokoutEnjoyed the pictures. I spent the summer of 1956 at the Tatoosh Lookout. Saw it snow 2-3" on Aug 2nd. USFS used to allow cattle to be grazed above the timberline in those days. There are some amazing fields of native wildflowers near the summit. Melted snow for water for whole summer. Actually didn't get to LO till mid July and came back down about Sept. 1st. Did get to meet Martha Hardy the school teacher who wrote the book "Tatoosh" she had a cabin in Packwood at that time.
