From camp in Stormy Gulch
Found trail across Trinity Creek just south of our campsite which led us around to the East Bowl. Ascended ledges and talus up to the Guardian/Silex saddle. From there, followed cairns over to the south ridge. We thought we were supposed to follow the south ridge, rather than the gully just next to it; also, the cairns had dried up. So we were perplexed. Did a couple of moves harder than necessary to start out, but then it eased up. The wind was making my dry eye problem kick in, so it was better to call it a day. I came back for Silex the next day.

long loop from Hunchback pass TH
Up Stormy Gulch, between Storm King Peak and Peak Nine saddles, up Peak Seven, traversed over to south side of Mt. Silex and then traverse to The Guardian, back to Hunchback Pass TH via Leviathan Creek and Vallecito trail. Last 2 hrs hikes in the cover of night and saw many deer eyes (nice reflections in the headlamp).
