One of these really "chilling" shots...

I've been in exactly that same spot in August 1992, and already then the traces of the rapid glacier melting could not possibly have escaped one's eye; razor-blade-like moraine edges and the like...But boy, how it has retreated still, between 1992 and now! I could imagine that particularly the record summer of 2003 in Europe has had severe effects...back then, one was advised against going above what should normally be the snow-line, as the permafrost had been substantially reduced and thus the danger of stone-fall was extremely high...
