Downstream . . .I think I would stick to RMNP; where there are "actual trails" to follow; if I could hike again ! What is that purplish looking "stone"? It looks a bit like amethyst!

Re: Downstream . . .A little more green in RMNP too. I had not seen that purple stuff until you mentioned it.
