View from the ridge

Looking east from the ridge just north of the Niedersachsenhaus. We hiked up from the west, and the upper slopes of that trail were covered in snow. The early sun has already melted most of the snow on the east-facing slopes. 28 August 2011.

Ah, yes, a bit of snow makes mountain landscapes so much more exciting!
