"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

End of Nine PeaksUsed this trail to get back to the car after hiking the nine peaks ending at San G. Remember it being a very steep descent. Maybe it was just the full overnight packs.

AlmostOur team of three made it about a mile before High Creek when Jeff's hip flexer couldn't take the pain any longer. We're hoping to go back to summit in a few weeks.

Vivian CreekHiked with (behind) Rick Kent and MikeSash. Summit was sunny but very cold and windy. Nobody spent much time there, including myself. But I was alone on top of S CA for 11 minutes.

1st Time on GorgonioGreat day, cold summit. I learned what it meant to lose your big toenail shortly after. A memorable hike in many ways.

After the snow earlier in the weekI left the parking lot at 6:30AM. I lost the trail just after the falls before the switchbacks about 1-2 miles from the peak. There was only a single set of tracks, which I assumed followed the real switchbacks, but they did not. They led me farther east than I needed to be. The conditions were great: sunny, not too much wind, nice powder. Crampons were a must after the falls. The falls were partially frozen which made for some breath taking wall trickling from the icicles. Even though I didn't make it to the peak, it was a beautiful hike.

Summit via Vivian CreekI lead a group of friends up the Vivian Creek Trail. We summitted at 1 pm whereupon it started to snow. On the way down, we got pelted by rain and disconcerted by a thunder and lightning show. This is not to say it wasn't a great outing.
