Re: Awesomesometimes even a fancy camera and lens aren't enough to capture a great photo of this elusive creature... two summers ago, i saw 2 wolverines within 10 minutes of each other from the trail above Ptarmigan Lake. by the time i switched out to my telephoto lens, both had climbed a steep snow field and loose scree near Ptarmigan Tunnel, gaining several hundred feet of elevation in only a few minutes. before i knew it, they were too far away to shoot! remarkable animal.

Re: AwesomeQuite an interesting story. I have no doubt that you'll get another opportunity to get a shot of this magnificent creature.

Pretty amazing!I have never seen one of these guys in the wild. It must have been quite a sight.
Great job catching this guy in its natural habitat.

Wow, & Congratulations!Wolverine: at the top of my most-wished-for wildlife photo encounter. Hasn't happened yet, but I'm still hoping!
If you haven't seen it already, check out the link in the "Red Tape, Wildlife, & Cautions" section of the GNP page. It takes you to an excellent article on the wolverines in GNPwell worth your time!

Re: Wow, & Congratulations!I have read the article and I have to agree it is very interesting. Vernon don't worry it'll happen one day, seeing a Wolverine is rare, but you'll see it when you least expect it.
We were just lucky that we were one of the first on the Highline Trail because we took the short way up (Climber's Trail by Haystack Creek) instead of driving all the way to the pass.
