"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Thin WallOn my way to 1000 routes, I revisited the Thin Wall, only my 2nd time there as this is a gym climber magnet due to the ease of top roping these relatively easy and short Jtree routes. Butterfingers Make Me Horny, 5.8*, was a secure solo at the grade on good rock. You can set up a top rope by threading a boulder in the middle of this route and Chocolate is Better Than Sex, 5.9. Chocolate seemed no more difficult than Butterfingers. Almost Vertical, 5.7*, and Ain’t Nothing but a Jtree Thing, 5.6*, are two easy and secure solos for the grade. You can top rope both from medium gear atop Vertical if you set a directional for Jtree Thing. In the middle is a face climb with reachy holds for the grade, not a great solo candidate: The Face of Tammy Faye, 5.7*. None of the millennials around me knew who Tammy Faye was. Suppose that is a good thing. Perhaps why the youngsters are not as weary as religion as I am. Dow

Good routesPlenty of short easy routes to do with the typical easy J Tree approach.
