We had bad weather, but view of Pale di SM was mysterious. This isn't my favourite ascent, maybe for bad weather...On the top, there was very cold and I was happy, when I was back near Laghi di Lusia. In good weather,it can be great...,but I know better places in Dolomiti.
Route Climbed: Piavac - Laghi di Lusia - Cima Bocche Date Climbed: July 16th 2005
Were the first on the cable car to Piavac. Terrible scenery at the top - ski runs where no piece of grass was alive anymore. But once we crossed the boundary of the national park things changed. Beautiful meadows, nice set lakes and a steep ascent along WW I support trails. Alone on the summit but as we packed another pair of hikers arrived. Returned via the Sentiero Attrezzato del Gronton, one of the most scenic ferrate I know.
