Tallac!
Climbed Tallac many times. In summer, fall, spring, and winter. The view never gets old. Great skiing down the cross and in north bowl. Spent the night on the summit in 1994 and watched the best sunrise of my life.

Tahoe's Best
My 11 year old son and I made this beautiful hike - which was made harder than it looked by the trail being so often made up of round golf ball size rocks that strain your brakes going down. We went up the back way up the talus near the top rather than follow the trail around. Overall, a treat for the eyes and a kicking for the butt.

Great Views
I took the trip advice to "peel" off the trail at the clearing and bushwack 100 yds toward the SE chutes. It was not bad at all, i ended up climbing the ridge between the scree cirque and the actual chutes. Excellent class 3 and some wonderful moderate class 4 climbing.

Wow is right
I can vouch for Ryan on that comment, major "talent" on this hill! Awesome hike and views
Can't wait to try this one with my snowboard!! How is it possible that we passed more than several women on this trail, and all of them were hot?! Good stuff.
End of a weeklong road trip for work, culminated in a hasty solo summit hike. Round trip from the trailhead took me around 4hrs and change. Shared the summit with a marmot and hundreds of flies, fires to the N and W were evident with huge plumes by mid-morning.

Cathedral Lake Trail
Hiked this with my brother, Barton; my nephew, Spencer and my bro-in-law Michael Eschenberg. Still a lot of snow blocking a portion of the trail, but easy to get around.

Easier than expected
I had been told by several people how hard Mt Tallac was, but I was surprised by the short time it took us to hike. We started at the Fallen Leaf trailhead. We got a late start and so it was hot by the time we got to the top at 11 am. Despite that, the views were fantastic.

Lots of people. Off trail scramble. Effort to get up were well worth the amazing views.

NE Ridge
Humped my skis up the northeast ridge and skied the northeast bowl. Windcrust conditions until the flat at 7,400 then some nice corn.

I Heart Powder & Sunny Days
Went up & down the popular snowshoe/ski route on the east side. Man, the Desolation looks sexy in winter. There's a super nice boot pack up and skin tracks up there now.

Mosquitoes and marmot sex
hiked in from the north side of Fallen Leaf Lake, swatting mosquitoes just past Floating Island Lake where we turned and beelined for the summit, or where we thought it was. vexed a bit by the brush, we ascended the summit to find randy marmots and (ground squirrels?) bold enough to sit on your boot and take food from your hand.

Tallac Trail
Just a little dusting of snow on the ridge, but VERY cold. 40+ mph wind gust too, should've brought my balaclava.
