For the past 2 decades, I've been chipping away at this list of the highest mountains in Japan, albeit at a snail's pace. :-) And on Aug. 12, 2011, I finally reached my goal.
Truth is, it's been my good fortune thru the years to climb all of Japan's 29 highest peaks, and 38 of the tallest 50.
Japan's highest 21 peaks that are taller than 3000 m are known as "Three-thousanders."
