3 Fingers top ladder

Duane tops out on the last of the three ladders that are one of the attractions of climbing this peak. What a fantastic area but the views we hoped to have were obscured by clouds that blocked the views of even some of the close peaks. 8-24-07

I like this one, moreso even than the now popular steep snow traverse shot. It gives a real feel for the surroundings and the little ladder stairway to heaven.

I would guess Duane was looking at the spike, just as Bob probably was in my similar pic. Not only is it a hazard, that metal spike also keeps us from getting nice portraits of these crazy peakbaggers.

You are right about the feel for the surroundings. I still wonder how that gal hung on after splitting her scalp open on that spike. Yikes.
