A closer look at Fortezza

Of course, Piz Palü dominates the picture. On the far right is Fuorcla Bellavista, the saddle between Piz Palü and Bellavista. From there the route to Berghaus Diavolezza over Fortezza descends south (that's to the left in the picture, which is taken from the west), over the big snow mass in the center. Where the snow mass ends, follow the rocky ridge for quite a while, until you reach a suitable snow field on the eastern side (not visible of course) of the ridge to descend to the Pers Glacier.
