A sliver of Lake Chelan can be seen from the summit if you look down Bear Creek. The lake is at 1,100 ft, so the elevation difference summit-to-water is 7,300 ft.

It could be used but there's no trail and no real designated drop off point on the lakeshore. For Emerald Peak, it's easiest to ascend the trail up Emerald Park Creek, which is one drainage north of Bear Creek.
