Re: nice! Thanks! I took the photograph in August, 2005. I found this peak very pleasant to climb, and good for trail running.

Hey Susan...I thought you just climbed in Nevada. Whatever!
This is a very nice photo of the Humpheys Peak trail, maintained by the Kachina RD folks. GREAT LIGHTING! Did you ever experience this area in Autumn? The aspen are in full color at that time. Beautiful shot along the trail !!!

Re: Hey Susan...Thank you for the kind words. I have not climbed in Autumn, I bet it's really nice. Perhaps I'll make it down there again in October. I know the 2nd week of October the color peaks here in the Spring Mountains of Nevada. Is the color peak later for Humphreys?

Here's your answer...Now... not claiming to be an expert, BUT:
I just returned from Lockett Meadows, on the east side of Humphreys Peak. The conditions were very dry & windswept, with a few ASPEN turning gold here and there. YES, I believe the PEAK COLORS will occur in Mid-October.
(It was a very hot/dry summer for both Utah and Arizona.) Don't know about Nevada - I heard "WHAT HAPPENS IN Nevada STAYS in NEVADA!" Okay? Take Care & cheers to you !!! !!! !!!
You're right - AGE is not relevant.
