A view of the southwest side of Mt. Rahm on August 3, 2003. The orange dot marks the location of a hidden gully that can be used to climb through the cliff band. The gully trends up and left and contains about 40 feet of Class 4. There is an alternate, easier gully to the right (see Martin's description below). The upper snowfield is not as steep as it looks.

An easier gully

Actually, I believe there's an easier gully than the one shown here with the orange dot. The next gully to the right (east) starts lower, is longer, and is filled with totally loose crap, but it's no more difficult than a move or two of easy class three. The bottom entrance to the gully is just past the top of the snow patch seen in the bottom right of this picture. -- Martin
