Re: Loved it!

Thanks rgg - I agree maybe there should be such a law, but maybe also one that says there should be change for baggage trolleys available at train stations on main routes from international airports! (or Mules...). Mindyou - 45kg is not that much, just the equivalent of giving a large child a piggy back.

Bloody Hell

With a bit more effort (or perhaps if you'd been immobilised just a little longer with that prolapsed disc) this TR would have been a book! A great read and terrific photos to illustrate it all. Excellent.

Sorry to hear about the bummer of an experience being mugged in Buenos Aires.

Re: Bloody Hell

Thanks dadndave - glad you enyoyed it. Yes, it is a bit of a marathon TR - perhaps instead of a prologue I should have written something to the effect of 'warning! do not proceed any further without a cup of strong coffee and a spair 3/4 hour..'
As for the photos - the only credit I can take is for having taken the trouble to lug a reasonably good as well as idiot proof camera up there and being in the right place at the right time.
And as for being mugged in BA - we count ourselves as very lucky - could have been a whole lot worse (I think the better muggers probably don't operate on sundays over there..)

Really enjoyed your report

My climbing partner and I are going in Feb 2012, this is by far the best report I have read. Thanks
Sight would not let me vote atm, definitely 10/10

Re: Great trip and report!

Thanks Darek - glad you liked it. I had the time of my life out there and keep going back over it all in my head.
And I see you climbed big A back in 2009, via the Polish Traverse - and you also had a storm to sit out, before you summited. Congratulations on your ascent and I hope you treasure as many good memories as I do (perhaps not so much of the Storm of course, but you'll know what I mean!).
best wishes, Mark

Wowsers!

I wish I could write a trip report half as successful, interesting and detailed as this one!
Beunas Aires was very reminiscent of my time in Arusha 2012!
Hopefully Mar 16 I'll be able to at least get something onto paper to share like you have

Re: Wowsers!

Thanks a lot. Sounds like you are off to Aco in Feb 16 if you are planning on putting something on paper in March? Best of luck! If you are out there in Feb then we may bump into each other in Mendoza since I will be out there again, bound for the Cordon del Plata (most do C d P first as training for Aco - but I'm seeing how it goes the other way round...)

Re: Wowsers!

As long as you're enjoying it, I say it doesn't matter how, what, when or why you do it!

Yeah I'll be in Mendoza 5/6 Feb
